On Choices

Break life down to the important parts.

What does that look like?

Simple. Most of life is hard and not reachable. Decisions made daily determine your future.

Life itself is a series of choices. Left. Right. Fast. Slow. Each one is a choice we make. The real question, do we spend the time to look at our choices? Do you understand the choice you made and why?

The more I read, listen, and study. The clearer everything gets. Life is neither good or bad. Your thinking about it makes it so.

And therein lies the rub. You are the driver. You are the decider. So yep, the good and bad that happens are just circumstances of life. How you feel about them and your actions create your life.

How do I feel?

To paraphrase Mark Manson, learn how to focus and prioritize your thoughts effectively.  Pick and choose what matters to you and what does not matter to you.

There is a whole lot to this choice thing. And even more to life. But this at least gets you started thinking.

Use that thing between your ears.

Corporate America

I like Corporate America. Yes, I said it.

Really stop and take the time to analyze the situation.

For years, Corporate America has delivered consistently, exactly what you wanted.

Corporate America gives the market what it wants.

Yes, there are mom & pop shops, but those shops only influence regions yet still feed off the big fish.

It’s the business ecosystem, stupid.

Sitting at a party tonight, I realized that I enjoy the life I live. We freely give and take in a spirit of love. Enabled by Corporate America.

Let me be the first one to say it … Thank You!

Everyone out there putting in the hours. Planning. Doing. And Executing against their plans.

Initial Planning – 2017

Coming into 2017, I am looking to deepen my focus on what I am accomplishing.

Found a job that I like a lot. Compliments my skills and allows me the freedom to win.

My business goals have stayed the same for an entire year now. I know it’s time to put more energy on this project.

Ash Media Empire is a good idea, that deserves great execution. Knowing myself, I need to do what I’m great at, managing. So, I’m going to do that and not the rest. Time to delegate.

Hard decisions, no. Necessary, yes. Done

Work, Business, and Life all need the same structured focus.

I will be integrating them fully into my GTD – Evernote system.

Coding will be a big part of my plans because I like the methodologies and thinking it promotes.

  3. Business
  4. Skills

Inches

Slowly but surely I grow. 

Thoughts lead to plans. Plans to action.

Adjust. Go. Adjust. Success.

It’s tedious. But it’s important. 

Those little details roll up into the outcome. 

Don’t skimp. No detail is too small. 

An inch this way or that can be the difference between winning and losing.

Why I won’t watch 

I didn’t watch the election results. 

And for the same reason I don’t watch sports anymore. I cannot influence the outcome. 

I did my part. I voted. Chose my candidate. Picked a winner. But the rest, not much I can do. 

So why watch? 

My time is better spent. Doing just about anything else. And what better to do then organize my thoughts. Quick mental mind sweep. 

Walking my dog tonight. I had a sense of mental clarity. Time stood still. I was able to be present in the moment. And in that moment the future looked bright. 

Instead of watching. I am going to keep doing what created that clear space. Thinking. Organzing. And just being present, now.
