Live Your Dream Life

If you’re anything like me, you love life.

Time can be your friend or your enemy. The choice is yours. When we spend time doing things that we love than time is your friend. Otherwise time can be doing everything to make your life hell.

Why did I bring up loving life and time?

We each only have 24 hours in a day. The way you spend that time is your life. Think about that. Your life is how you spend the time that you have. Sooo…

Hate your job?
Hate your house?
Hate your _____?

Why are you doing it?

You only have one life.

Go out there and do things that you love. Even a little bit of it. If that’s all that you can do your life will be better.

So that’s what I’m doing. Spending a little more time on things that make me happy.

More time at home. More time working on the business. More time finding clients. More time coding. More time running.

Slicing my time into smaller pieces and doing these things daily makes my life better.

That’s all we can ask for. A better life. A life created and lived for one person: YOU.

So, if you take one thing away from this blog post. Do You!

Vacation Time

It’s that time of year again.

People going away. Spending time with family and loved ones. It’s also that time where we really feel the sting of friends and family members that have passed. Not a fun reminder, but always in the back of our head. This year let’s celebrate the ones no longer with us – celebrate their life.

Vacation Plans

Worked hard all year. Now time to relax and evaluate.

What worked this year? What will I adjust for the upcoming year? Lots of questions to answer. But, no pressure. Relax. Evaluate. Plan.

This year, I have solid goals.

But, goals aren’t enough. This is what I’ve learned. The process to get to the goals has to be defined and clear. Most importantly thinking through what can throw you off the straight and narrow. And accounting for that grey area.

They say planning is art and science. Now, I understand.

What has helped me recently:

  1. GTD – This framework created the needed clarity, space, and organization that allows me to focus.
  2. Calender – Hard edges on items that have to be done including early reminders to get started. Works wonders to know how to effectively use this tool.
  3. Evernote – I have been able to accurately track my lists, assignments, folders, and projects.

Worthy of Your Attention:

  1. Gary Vaynerchuck: Want to learn the philosophy behind doing business in the 21st Century. Focus Areas: Marketing, Self-awareness, and Building Businesses. I have re-read his books and they are the basis for my business style.
  2. Seth Godin: The man is great at pattern recognition and spelling out exactly how to accomplish what you want. Read most of his books and have subscribed to his daily blog for about a year now.
  3. Austin Kleon: Need help with your creativity. This is the man to read. He keeps it simple, to the point. Love his style of writing and what he has to say, mostly.

2017 … Here. We. Go!

Get out there and do something. Anything.

It’s All Good

The world pressing down on my shoulders and riots in the streets.

Yet I still feel ecstatic, no matter what. I will be good. Confidence? Cockiness? Maybe a little of both.

It’s this irreducible axiom. Sorry, translation; it is all good.

My base premise is that the world is good.

The fire, life, pain, suffering; each is an aspect of this great life we get to live.

So, yep there is bad shit in this world. No doubt.

My advice?

[Tweet “Give the pain no respect. Go after your happiness. You have one life, only you can live it!”]

People say to me they would love to live in my rose-colored world.

JUMP IN, the water is warm.
