Listen: Rabbi Daniel Lapin – Modern Is Not Always Good; Ancient Is Not Always Wrong

I listened to the Rabbi today. Yes, you heard right. He is a Rabbi and I’m not Jewish. But he spoke to me. I heard his story, his vision, and his thoughts. They resonated with me.

I’m old-school. I love the classics and believe in good old-fashioned work. Not that you have to love it, but that it has to get done. My wife used to tell me that I was an old soul. I loved that. It sums up my feelings about the world. We came into this world yet so many came before us who may have the answers. We stand on their shoulders. So, yes, our world is different. But how much? And: to what degree?

Back to the point. Ideas do not degrade like other things. Ideas get to stand on their own. And through thinking they can either stand the test of time or not. Clear thinking like that makes me happy. It touches on this idea in my head; better can only come from what came before. The clearer we see this, the better we will be.

Take a listen to the Rabbi. He may surprise you.
