Today’s Focus

I have to win

Today I will …

Eat well.

Exercise.

Wake up Early.

Spend a few hours on my business.

Put out a new blog post.

Spend time with my family.

Think deeply.

Strategize.

Read a book.

Execute my day’s plan.

Because, truly, the final destination is death.

Second Guessing

Spending time doing this is useless.

Do your best.

Then…

Let the chips fall where they may.

Serendipity is magic.

Perfection is not worth the extra effort.

Put in work, hustle, plan, and execute.

Analyze what worked and what didn’t.

Do more of the former and less of the latter.

It’s not a hard formula.

Is this exactly what I wanted to say here?

Yes, No … Maybe?

Whatever, it’s said.

Have a great day!

And, HAPPY MONDAY!

Idea Remix

That’s what I’m after. The good ones that lead to better ones.
Actionable. Testable.
Simple or complex; doesn’t matter.
The logical flow next step previous ideas. Extensions on top of what works.
Think about it.
The idea is old school, it’s the execution that’s original.
That’s what good jazz and classical music are all about. Knowing what perfect looks like and putting your style on it.
It may take years of training. But the outcome is worth it.
Stay the course. Remix the old until you find yourself.

Multi-tasking

I cannot do it.

My brain does not work that way.

I can run ideas through my head amazingly fast in series. Similar to a lightning fast calculator. But still one by one.

When I try to run ideas at the same time, the wires get crossed. Ideas bounce into each other and then I follow tangents to nowhere.

So, I recognize this and I don’t multi-task.

One item in, one out. All day long.

I feel great.  Control the flow.

Before I would try to be like everyone else, but this works for me.

Try it. Slow down. Do it slow at first. Like anything, over time you will pick up speed.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Be present with the task at hand.work-harder

#Business: Decision Cycle

When I know the right answer I cannot move off of it.

It’s that knowing part that gets me.

The truth is undefeated and I want it in my corner.

But the questions start.

What is the priority?

[Tweet “How much am I willing to spend? Time, Money, & Energy? – @WinstonAsh1”]

What will the impact be?

I could answer. But my mind has already filed the issue.

I made a snap decision by thinking about it once.

Important? No. Urgent? No. – Ok.

Now, let it sit. If it dies, then I let it lay; But if it comes back twice, time to think some more.

Think about that. My decision cycle is a minimum of three rotations. Good or bad, it is what it is.

What is your decision cycle?

#Business: Better at Many Projects

I listened to the podcast episode for the 14th time. Before I couldn’t say exactly how I felt. But then I knew.

This is my business. I can build it anyway I want.

I want to be able to work on any task that I want.

There are many tasks that have to get done. Just not by me.

Pick tasks I like. Do them.

Pick tasks I hate. Delegate them.

Make sure everything gets done. I am the boss after all.

No excuses. Just find a way forward.

Good news for everyone involved. Before the projects were overwhelming.

But with this mindset.

Where is my Easy button?
